Following the Call for tenders N0 001/2021/CAMFAAS for the selection of enterprises that can provide equipment and agricultural inputs within the framework of the project for the recovery and resilience of rural youth entrepreneurship in Cameroon (REJRUC), vouchers for agricultural equipment and inputs were solemnly handed over to 5 young dynamic farmers from the centre region on Wednesday 17 February 2021 in Yaounde at the CAMFAAS headquarters .
Chaired by the Central Africa representative of @Procasur Coorporation Ms. Seraphine HAWA BITYEKI, the ceremony brought together about ten agripreneurs coming from various organisations and youth support projects, including the Programme for the Promotion of Youth Agropastoral Entrepreneurship (PEA-Jeunes) and the Ecole Pratique d’Agriculture de Binguela (EPAB), the Support Programme for the Renovation and Development of Vocational Training in the Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Sectors – Consolidation and Sustainability Phase (PCP-AFOP), YPARD-Cameroon, Cameroon Youth Initiative for Rural Development (CAMYIRD), and Jeunesse et Développement Durable pour l’Afrique (J2D-Afrique).
These young people shared their various experiences in plenary and briefly presented their enterprises, the difficulties encountered in relation to the health crisis and their resilience strategies. These enterprises produce broiler chickens, vegetable products, fruit juice, pork, honey and other beehive products. They have received guidance from the panel and have been invited to CAMFAAS training workshops.
This financial support estimated at about US $ 2500 will help improve recovery strategies for young farmers affected by the corona virus crisis. The group of beneficiaries is made up of 2 girls and 3 boys.
The ceremony, which was a demonstration of Procasur’s and its collaborators’ ongoing commitment to contribute effectively to the development of youth agro-pastoral entrepreneurship in rural areas, ended with a family photo and a cocktail.
